Solid PCD end mills for aluminum, copper, graphite and composites. Send diameter, material, reach and machine data for RFQ review.

Description

HEYI precision cutting tools manufacturing line for PCD and CBN tools

Solid PCD end mills are used when the cutting edge itself must be diamond rather than a coating or a brazed segment. They are relevant for aluminum, copper, graphite, composites, and other abrasive or non-ferrous milling applications where edge quality, burr control, profile accuracy, and predictable wear are the main buying criteria.

Send the cutter diameter, material, reach, flute or edge requirement, machine data, and current machining issue. HEYI can review whether a solid PCD route is suitable for RFQ.

Where this tool fits

  • High-speed milling of aluminum, copper, graphite, composites, and suitable non-ferrous materials
  • Contour, profile, finishing, and light milling work where edge consistency matters
  • Jobs where diameter, flute type, reach, edge design, and machine stability affect tool choice
  • RFQs where coated carbide or brazed PCD may not fit the required edge quality or geometry

Typical materials

  • Aluminum and aluminum alloys
  • Copper and other non-ferrous metals
  • Graphite
  • Composite materials
  • Other abrasive non-ferrous materials suitable for PCD milling review

Custom geometry and drawing review

Solid PCD end mill selection depends on the cutter diameter, flute form, reach, cutting edge layout, shank requirement, and machine condition. If your application needs a drawing-based cutter or a current-tool review, send the drawing, tool photo, or model information with the machining conditions.

Why solid PCD instead of coated carbide or brazed PCD

A solid PCD route can make sense when the job needs a continuous diamond cutting edge, small geometry, clean profiling, or stable edge behavior that a coating or brazed segment cannot provide. The right choice still depends on material, tool size, reach, and machine stability.

What to send for RFQ

  • Workpiece material and whether it is abrasive, non-ferrous, or composite
  • Cutter diameter, cutting length, reach, shank size, and flute or edge requirement
  • Drawing, tool photo, current tool model, or target geometry if available
  • Machine spindle data, coolant or dry cutting condition, and current cutting problem
  • Surface finish, burr control, tolerance target, quantity, and expected timing

FAQ

What materials are suitable for PCD end mills?

PCD end mills are mainly reviewed for aluminum, copper, graphite, composites, and other abrasive or non-ferrous materials. They are not the default choice for general steel milling.

Can HEYI quote a custom PCD end mill from a drawing?

Yes. Send the drawing, diameter, reach, flute or edge requirement, material, and machine data so HEYI can review the RFQ.

When is solid PCD not the right route?

If the job is a general steel milling application or the machine condition cannot support the required geometry, another tool route may be more suitable. Send the machining details for review before quotation.
